Selby Peña

Selby Pena was raised on the coast of California and studied in Los Angeles. She began working as a stylist shortly thereafter, which allowed her to live in New York, London, as well as extensive travels throughout Europe. It is during this time that she became extremely interested in photojournalism. Upon her return to Los Angeles, Pena began assisting a photographer professionally, and later took an intensive photographic journey through Cuba, which is where her emotionally rich series, Cuba Mirrored, is derived. Selby now resides in the California beach town in her roots, where she has chosen to raise her young daughter Maliah. Her photographic trajectory continues with candid, personal portraits of people.
