About the Artist

Amy Dinkins

Amy Dinkins is drawn to sunsets, light on mountains and oceans, tall skyscrapers, Greek Ruins, gods and goddesses, ancient Jewels, and music of the ancients. In another life she believes she would be a traveler, walking cobblestone paths with a pet mule helping to carry her belongings. Her art is an expression of the desire to roam, drawing on where the sunset takes her, where freedom lies. Where the golden sand hits the tide. Although she yearns to roam across the desert sands of the Sahara, tropical trails of lush green, and cobblestone paths through the mountains, Amy has spent much of her time singing classical music as an Opera Singer singing with Los Angeles Opera, and recording her own music. On the stage the light was magic, the colors of satin gowns and velvet rose petals shimmering and changing, much like the sunsets she holds so dear. She also designed an Ikat and sequin bedding line called Ynez which was sold at Anthropologie, yet another ode to sunsets, oceans, and cobblestone paths.

”I always want to capture the moment when the sun hits my feet and the tide merges over them at the same time.”
