ELIZABETH VAIL

The human population of the earth has quadrupled since Elizabeth Vail’s birth. The wild places are diminished, and yet wilderness still lives in the hearts and minds of artists and visionaries. There is still something to fight for and save.

Elizabeth Vail earned a PhD in English Literature in 1995, after which she lived and worked as a university professor in Japan for four years, followed by a fifteen year stint as a community college writing instructor. Happily she has left academia behind and is focused entirely on her family, friends, and her aspiration to affect change through paintings of the earth she loves, as well as her ongoing work as a poet.
